The nominations have just been released, via a press release, for the Screen Actors (no apostrophe!) Guild (aka SAG) awards.

In terms of the films getting the most attention, they are:

Once again, it’s a mixture of expected favourites and some films not out yet in the UK. Links to my reviews of the films that I’ve seen (I REALLY must watch “Sing Sing”!) are marked with hyperlinks.

I guess the one surprise to me is the absence of Denzel Washington in the Supporting Actor running for “Gladiator II“. I always find the “Ensemble Cast” award to be one of the most interesting in the SAGs. I’d love for “Conclave” to win this one, as I think it had the most consistenly excellent cast of four.

I’m very glad Conclave won the top prize. It’s the best movie among the five.
