Plot summary:

It’s 1964 and 3 friends; the activist Malcolm X (Kingsley Ben-Adir), the singer Sam Cooke (Leslie Odom Jnr) and NFL star Jim Brown (Aldis Hodge) are in Miami to watch their mutual friend Cassius Clay (Eli Goree) fight for the heavyweight boxing title against Sonny Liston. Clay is about to join the Muslim community and become Mohammed Ali, with Malcolm X as his mentor. Over the course of one night in a motel room, the four friends discuss religion, fame and the varied ways in which they can progress black power.

This is the feature directorial debut of actress Regina King. You can currently (Jan 21) find the movie on Amazon Prime.
